The world-famous "Ghibli" with its emotional and warm stories meets "ChatGPT," which is widely used in various content fields.
Recently, using ChatGPT's image generation feature to create Ghibli-style images has become a trend, especially on social media and communities.
This trend has gained strong reactions not only from the MZ generation but also from marketers and educators. But why are people so excited about this combination? We analyzed the buzz around "ChatGPT" and "Ghibli" using big data!
1. Why is the AI-generated Ghibli image causing such a stir?
Additionally, concerns about ChatGPT image generation were also explored. There were noticeable differences in quality between the "free" (3,434) and "paid" (1,267) versions, which made some users react sensitively, and issues like "copyright" (1,415) were also discussed. Are AI-generated images legal? This is likely to be a lasting debate as AI continues to contribute to content creation.
2. Why Did People React the Way They Did? (Positive vs. Negative)
To examine public reactions to the trend of creating Ghibli "art style" (721) images with ChatGPT, we conducted sentiment analysis with TEXTOM. The result showed that 78.61% of the responses were positive, indicating a generally favorable view. Upon further inspection, many expressed admiration for the capabilities and possibilities of ChatGPT technology. People were amazed by how a simple text like "change this image into a Ghibli style" could transform an image into something resembling an animated scene, showcasing ease and creativity.
However, there were also some negative responses (21.39%), but these were often related not to dissatisfaction but to concerns about the future impacts of AI technology or anxieties over copyright issues. The copyright issue surrounding AI-generated works has been a topic of discussion and will likely require legal and ethical standards to be established. Additionally, some users expressed disappointment over functional limitations of the free version or the accuracy of command recognition.
